Automobiles in German City Found Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Officers reported they were contacted by a individual who found a vehicle in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Roughly 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a statement.

Officers report they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then found many other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials state initial examinations indicate the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; investigators are presently not informed of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to resolve the case" and have asked to the public for information.

An important political figure stated the attack rendered him stunned and had to be resolved quickly.

"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the death of nine individuals by a gunman targeting residents of migrant background in 2020.
